Terms & Conditions of Business
By using our services, you are agreeing to the following Terms and Conditions of Business.
1. Quotations
1.1 GK Window Cleaning will send prospective customers an electronic quote outlining the total price along with a breakdown of the requested services within 24 hours via email or text message for your review.
1.2 All quotations are valid for 30 days unless otherwise stated.
1.3 All quotations provided remotely or via one of our instant quote services are subject to review in cases where the customer has provided inadequate or misleading information the price quoted may be revised accordingly. This will be communicated prior to work taking place. Our instant quote services are designed for customers with standard houses, if you have a particularly large or unique property please contact the team for a bespoke quotation.
1.4 All quotations provided remotely or via one of our instant quote services are subject to geographical area coverage, risk assessment of the property and accessibility assessment.
On health and safety grounds we cannot provide window cleaning services to properties that are within 6 metres of a HV (11kV –33kV) power line or windows that are within 2 metres of a LV (230-400V) power line.
On health and safety grounds we cannot clean windows that require operatives to stand on or cross pitched (sloped) roofs. We can clean windows that are only accessible from a flat roof subject to a satisfactory risk assessment (this may involve an additional charge for time spent operating ladders safely)
Accessibility, due to our equipment we cannot pass through any part of the customers internal property due to the potential risk of water damage. For this reason we are mostly unable to service terraced houses or houses with no rear / side gate.
2. Window Cleaning Services
2.1 We use a pure water cleaning system on all window cleans. This method effectively removes general dirt from windows and frames. However, it will not remove sticker residue, plaster, paint, or other construction debris.
2.2 If any panes of glass are broken or cracked, we will not clean them. We will notify you either in person (if you are home) or via electronic communication.
2.3 Windows will be cleaned on your agreed regular schedule (typically every 4 or 8 weeks). We will endeavour to clean the windows on the same day on each occasion however due to circumstances such as bank holidays, staff sickness, staff annual leave and extreme weather we cannot guarantee the clean will always be on the same day. We will notify the customer of any significant changes to the schedule.
2.4 We pride ourselves on being reliable and appreciate the same courtesy from our customers. Customers who regularly skip or skip 2 cleans consecutively will result in termination of our services. If you wish to skip a clean for a valid reason this must be communicated with a minimum of 12 hours notice.
2.5 If you are not satisfied with the standard of work carried out, you must notify us within 24 hours. We will seek immediately to rectify the situation to your satisfaction.
2.6 We will notify you the day before your scheduled clean via text and / or email. We are unable to specify a specific timeslot on that particular day.
2.7 On the day of your clean, any gates providing access must be left unlocked. If access is restricted, we will clean all accessible windows and 50% of the job price will still be charged.
2.8 Inclement weather, we work all year round in all conditions including light rain and rain showers. Rain water will not affect the quality of the clean. We may however in extreme weather conditions such as thunder storms, strong winds or snow and ice reschedule your clean for health and safety reasons.
2.9Pet Waste, to ensure the health and safety of our staff and to maintain the cleanliness of our equipment, we request that all working areas are kept clear of dog mess or other animal waste.
If our team encounters animal waste in areas required for access we will withdraw our services and full price will still be charged. If dog mess results in our equipment or staff requiring cleaning or disinfecting, a £100 sanitation charge will be added to your invoice.
This charge covers the time, cleaning materials, and loss of productivity required to safely disinfect and restore equipment. Repeated breaches of this policy may result in termination of services.
3. Payment Terms
3.1 We only accept payment for our regular window cleaning service via GoCardless (Direct Debit) your first clean will not be scheduled until the customer has completed the GoCardless onboarding process.
3.2 For ad-hoc customers who are not on GoCardless we can accept card payments via Stripe. Full payment is due within 14 days of completion of the agreed service unless otherwise stated.
4. Cancellations
4.1 If you wish to cancel your regular service, please notify us via email at gkwindowcleaning@hotmail.com with a minimum of 30 days’ notice.
4.2 By using our services, you agree to a minimum of three cleans. If cancelling before three cleans have taken place, the remaining cleans will be payable.
5.1 Photography & Filming
GK Window Cleaning may take photographs or video footage while carrying out work. These may be used for marketing, promotional purposes, website content, social media, or third-party publications.
